Science Creates  Workshop

Come join our workshop in the Learning Lab at the Old Market Science Creates incubator, led by Charlie at the Science Creates Outreach team in collaboration with one of the amazing innovative companies in residence. Take a four week deep dive into a project with us.

Our next Friday workshops will be:  June 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
Time: 1030am - 1230pm

The theme for this four part programme is deep tech. Across the sessions the learners will get hands on with engineering and physics challenges alongside some scientists from companies within the Science Creates network.

7th - bespoke workshop at the Apple Store in Cabot Circus. Exploring the newest tech, teaching them how to use Procreate and design their own app or emoji.

14th -   Weaving Change will lead the workshop. Exploring the origins of synthetic and natural fibres, the journey a piece of fabric goes on before it gets to us, the importance of sustainable fashion and then the group will participate in a nylon making workshop, synthesising nylon.

21st - Led by a civil engineer there will be an session on Newton's Laws, forces and friction and then the group will get a chance to demonstrate this in water and also make their own balloon powered cars. Gaz from The MoSAIC will also join us for this session.

28th - Anaphite, another Science Creates member company, will facilitate the session. Their mission is to enable low-cost, no-compromise sustainable transportation for everyone and the session will be based on electricity, with the group making their own batteries.

Sessions cost £12 and booking for all four is required to enable us to enable a weekly build on learning with the same cohort of learners.
