Art Workshop
Our creative workshops provide different creative opportunities, led by Bex, an experienced and passionate guide. Sessions explore various artistic mediums and inspire creativity often through learning about famous artists.
There’s an open invitation to experiment and learn new skills, get things wrong and try again - which all builds confidence. Most materials are provided, though learners may want to bring their own.
This is also a self-directed creative space where our young people have the choice to join the workshop or work on their own projects whilst co-creating alongside others.

Workshop one: Tech Explorers
Step into the world of invention with this fun, hands-on two-hour workshop where curiosity meets cutting-edge tech. We’ll be diving into the possibilities of Raspberry Pi and Arduino — tiny but powerful devices that can bring your ideas to life.
Thanks to a generous donation, we now have a treasure trove of Raspberry Pi gear (seriously, a huge box!) plus stacks of Arduino kits ready to be tinkered with. Learners will get the chance to experiment, build, and create with real hardware.
Whether you want to light up LEDs, code a mini game, or design your first gadget, this is your chance to explore, make, and invent in a space where imagination leads the way.

Workshop Two: Masking making
We’re excited to welcome Joel to the Hub, who joins us on a work placement while completing his Fine Art degree at UWE.
Building on his current practice, Joel will be leading a five-week art workshop focused on mask making, inviting learners to explore identity, storytelling, and transformation through creative making.
The workshop will develop a wide range of skills, including design and visual planning, sculpting and construction, working with mixed materials, surface decoration, and problem-solving. Alongside practical techniques, learners will be encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and reflect on their ideas as their masks evolve over time.
