Science workshops with the MoSAIC
NEXT WORKSHOP: Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th April at Science Creates Learning Lab
Become an Interdisciplinary Artist.
Join STREAMS, The MoSAIC, and Science Creates for an exciting two-day masterclass in being an interdisciplinary artist! Designed for curious 11-15 year olds, this hands-on workshop blends science and creativity, giving young minds the chance to explore cutting-edge research and turn it into thought-provoking visual art. We are excited to share that we will be collaborating with Kelpi, Genome Key and Scarlet Therapeutics - all based within Science Creates.

What Will Happen?
Day 1:
-
Talking About Art – We will start by talking about what it means to be an artist and what art means to you.
-
Meeting Scientists – You will meet some scientists who will explain their work and how it connects to everyday life.
-
Exploring the Science – You will learn more about their research on your own or in a group.
-
Designing Your Artwork – Your task is to create a visual artwork that helps people understand the science you learned about. You will come up with a few design ideas before choosing your final one.
-
Getting Feedback – You will share your ideas with a scientist and ask them any questions you have. They will give you feedback to help improve your final piece.
Day 2:
-
Making Your Artwork – You will create your final artwork in any way you like—drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, digital, or something else. You will also write a short artist statement explaining your idea.
-
Sharing Your Work – At the end of the day, you can present your artwork to the scientist and explain how people should interact with it. If you prefer, you can just listen to others share their ideas instead.
Book in and come join us!

We are excited to be collaborating this year with Gaz at The MoSAIC. The workshops will be one off day long workshops, interweaving science and art - this is Gaz's passion. We have run some fantastic workshops with Gaz which included Mapping the Moon, AI generated art, exploring monochrome and Astrophysics.
