It can be difficult to find somewhere as a home educator to undertake the DofE Award scheme as the focus of DofE has been schools. Following some fantastic conversations with the team at Thornbury Open Award Centre and the DofE HQ we are now licensed and can offer DofE to our members.

Sessions are 10:30 – 12:30 on Fridays.

23 Jan at The Aquarium: Get stated, enrol on platform, plan skills 

27 Feb at The Climbing Hangar: Team building

20 Mar Location TBC - Planning the Wickwar wood expedition

30 Mar Wickwar Woods Outdoor adventure day

24 Apr Location TBC -  First Aid training

22 May Location TBC  Expedition prep + emergency procedures

17 - 21st Aug  Biblins, Forest of Dean Practice + assessed expedition,

5 day, 4 night camp out
 

Total Cost:  £230 per participant
 

This covers the full programme, delivered at cost with no profit and lots of volunteer time.

We will be encouraging young people to be self directed and proactive in this journey, with the Hub team to support and enable the journey. Read about Bronze Award requirements here.
